Here
we are on the eve of the millennium new year..
and there she is, my little girl Phoebe who planted the seeds and
unravelled the artist within. As with all new mothers, from the time
you find out 2 will become 3 you are launched back into the world
of the child. Fairy books and dressing up became part of our lives.
We
moved into a new house in March 2 years ago and my priorities were
to paint my daughter’s room pink and the baby’s room blue.
I completed the task before he was born in May, 8 weeks after our
move.
Snow white is one of phoebes favourite characters and so I painted
her on her bedroom wall. Lots of people saw it and loved it, to be
honest I surprised myself, and so I painted dolphins on my son’s
wall. King Triton has yet to make an appearance as do little animals
and flowers to accompany snow white in phoebes room.
I
then decided to paint my daughter as a fairy on a canvas and made
up a story to go with it about a magical world behind pixies door
where Phoebe's fairy lives, and so developed my fantasy portraits.
There’s a little boy called Luke dressed in his Chelsea kit
who we think is little boy blue. This will be one of my next projects,
so there is something for the boys too, although I think daddy likes
the idea of this one as Luke who was only 2 in May doesn’t quite
understand what I am doing, although he loves to draw on the walls.
Who can blame him, he sees mummy doing it!
I’ve
had lots of interest from family & friends and word of mouth,
which takes us to the present day. I decided that the next thing to
do was to open a website so that you can view some of my works and
commissions to date.
Thank
you for entering my website, I hope you enjoy it,
